We stumbled across Tempests Sunday Roast and thank goodness we did!
Originally it looked like Tempest was full however we were given a drink whilst a table was cleared for us.
The roast can be ordered on its own or with a starter or main. We choose to go just for the roast.
It took around 10 minutes to serve a fantastic cut of tender, perfectly cook/seasoned beef. The mixed veg were lovely and potatoes warm and fluffy. The Yorkshire was perfect size and cooked to perfection.
Our only criticism would be the lack of gravy. A little side pot would have made it perfect!
Overall rating 9/10

Welcome to Edinburgh Roasties
After a serious craving for a Sunday Roast in Edinburgh one Sunday my girlfriend and I were shocked to find how few restaurants offered what is, quite frankly, one of the finest, most complete meals ever.
Now don't get me wrong, Edinburgh has many qualities, the castle, the festival, the tattoo, Arthur's Seat, the list goes on but unfortunately roast dinners was not one of them!
After a search one rainy afternoon we finally stumbled across a few establishments that served this Sunday classic!
That was where our dream ended... or so we thought. The quality and level of sunday roasts across Edinburgh varies significantly.
This blog is an attempt to catalogue our experiences and gather your input and feedback to finding the best Edinburgh Sunday Roast!
Roasts will be judged upon the follow criteria:
- Quality and cooking of beef / chicken / lamb
- Roast Potatoes
- Side Vegetables
- Gravy and quantity of it!
- Price
- and finally... and some might say most importantly .. the Yorkies!
We will do our best to update the blog but please do come back for a read and help us help you to find the perfect Edinburgh Sunday Roast!
